Dr. Lemmietta McNeilly is an ASHA Fellow, a Distinguished Scholar and Fellow of the National Academy of Practice, and a Fellow of the American Society of Association Executives. Serves as the Chief Staff Officer for Speech-Language Pathology at ASHA, and is responsible for Speech-Language Pathology Practices, Governmental Affairs and Public Policy, International Programs and Special Interest Groups. Formerly, the founding department chair at Florida International University and faculty appointments at four universities.

Her resume includes numerous publications and international presentations regarding information for health care executives, policy makers and academicians across the globe. She has expertise empowering leaders regarding the changing health care landscape, genomics for health care professionals, interprofessional education and collaborative practice, social determinants of health, patient safety, effective utilization of speech-language pathology assistants, educating clinicians to use the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) to facilitate functional communication outcomes, and practicing at the Top of the License. Expertise managing teams in health care systems, Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units, providing person-centered care to culturally and linguistically diverse children living with chronic health conditions including immigrants and refugees.

Dr. McNeilly communicates internationally regarding the establishment and advancement of the profession of speech-language pathology. Experience consulting with professionals in other countries to facilitate accessibility of services for individuals experiencing communication disorders. Consults with the World Health Organization, the Global Rehabilitation Alliance, and the National Academy of Sciences. Serves on the National Academies of Practice Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Task Force and is active in the International Association of Logopedics and Phoniatrics (IALP) past member of the SLP Education Committee and currently serves on the IALP Multilingual and Multicultural Affairs Committee. Member of the ASAE Board and the ASAE Research Foundation Board.
