Velma Hart, MBA, FASAE, CAE, is the CEO of Velma Hart and Associates located in National Harbor, Maryland. Her firm focuses on the identification, analysis, and resolution of key problems and challenges that threaten an organization’s ability to be viable and relevant and identifies solutions that bridge the gap in achieving critical business outcomes. 

Velma currently also serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Construction Specifications Institute. At CSI, which started as a client, she helps to shape and improve the operational business health and financial strength of the organization. Working with a talented team of professionals, she helps to position the organization to achieve its mission and increase member value as well as expand the reach and profile of the CSI Foundation. Velma has had the pleasure of working for several prominent for-profit and non-profit organizations. She is an Army Reserve veteran, a member, and a member/officer of Eta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., is a Past Chair of the Board of Directors for and a Fellow of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), and holds other designations and board posts.  She has been a commentator for CNBC and MSNBC and is published on the topics of finance, strategic leadership, and diversity and inclusion.
