Debbie Trueblood

Debbie Trueblood, MSW, IOM, CAE is a Senior Consultant with Association Management Center (AMC). She has served professional associations for more than twenty years. She became an Executive Director in 2002 and has served in that role for six associations. As a consultant, she supports associations with governance; diversity, equity, and inclusion; strategic planning; ethics; and member engagement. She will be joining the ASAE Board of Directors in September 2022. She became a Fellow of ASAE (FASAE) in 2022 and earned her CAE in 2008. She has worked at three association management companies and two standalone associations, serving state, national, and international memberships. She has lobbied in all fifty states and Congress. She was the 2018-2019 Chair of the ASAE Ethics Committee and led the team to publish the ASAE Ethics Toolkit for associations as an ASAE member benefit. She is a former member of the ASAE Executive Management Council. She is currently leading a research team at AMC along with Texas A&M University to create the ASAE Foundation’s upcoming DEI Index for associations. She is currently the Chair of Association Forum’s Welcoming Environment Committee (their DEI committee). Under her leadership, her former association received four ASAE Power of A awards, including one for a DEI program which was later rolled out nationally. Debbie received her former association’s Diversity Icon Award in 2019. She was a recipient of the Association Forum’s “Forty Under Forty” award. Debbie is currently Vice-Chair for the National Association of Park Foundations. She has a master’s in social work from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a bachelors from MacMurray College where she served as a Trustee for eight years. She is a frequent speaker and consultant on topics related to governance, strategic planning, DEI, association turnaround, ethics, and member engagement.
